In the wake of rising Covid-19 cases, the United States of America’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has told its citizens to avoid travelling to India.
“Travellers should avoid all travel to India. Even fully vaccinated travellers may be at risk for getting & spreading variants and should avoid all travel to India. If you must travel to India, get fully vaccinated before travel,” said CDC.
Meanwhile, the UK added the South Asian country to its Covid-19 travel ‘red list’ on Monday. This means that anyone not a resident of the UK or Ireland, or a British citizen, cannot arrive in the United Kingdom if they have been to India in the previous 10 days.
On the other hand, countries like Hongkong and New Zealand halted flights from India for 14 days.
