In relieving news to the Indian Cricket Team, the UK government has agreed to relax the travel restrictions as the Virat Kohli-led Team India travels to England for a three-month-extensive tour.
We know the Covid-19 infections in India are growing. Amid the fear of second wave variants, the UK government has imposed strict restrictions on India by adding it to the red list. As per government rules, people with travel history to India were not be allowed entry apart from UK and Ireland citizens.
After the BCCI negotiating a way to keep the ICC WTC Final and the England Tour afloat, the UK government granted relief to the players from India.
The India cricket board BCCI already kept the team ready to leave for the UK on June 2. The team will arrive in the UK on June 3 and will undergo hard quarantine there. The Men in Blue will take on New Zealand in the ICC WTC Final from June 18.
Ahead of flying to England, all the players will assemble in Mumbai by May 19 and will be placed in a bio-bubble from May 24 before leaving on June 2. The families of cricketers who are travelling with the team will also join the bio-bubble in Mumbai.
