Telangana Chief Minister KCR has decided to increase the prices of TSRTC bus tickets, and electricity charges due to various reasons. The decision will be taken in the upcoming cabinet meeting and would be put into effect shortly.
Officials of the TSRTC are said to have informed that they have incurred great losses in the last one and a half years, due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the increase in the rates of petrol and diesel. As a result, the TSRTC is said to have run into a loss of over Rs. 3000 Crores in the last one and a half years. The TSRTC is said to be at a loss of Rs. 90 Crores every month, in the Hyderabad zone itself.
On the other hand, KCR is said to have met with Energy Minister Jagadeesh Reddy and Genco, Transco CMD Prabhakar Rao, and discussed the increase of electricity charges in the state, which haven’t been increased in the past six years. The electricity department is also said to have run into losses in the last one and a half years, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
