Telangana Chief Minister KCR ordered all the collectors and SPs of all the districts of the state to ensure the strict following of the lockdown in Telangana, as more and more vehicles are coming out during lockdown hours in the state.
Following these orders of the CM, the DGP and Police Commissioners have given strict orders to everyone from the Police department to make sure that the lockdown is strictly followed in the state. As a result, Police personnel have started to beat up anyone roaming outside during lockdown hours with lathis.
In this process, a few Police personnel ended up beating people from the power department, while on their way to perform their emergency duties, to supply power 24×7, without any interruptions in the state. Enraged by this, the power staff of Nalgonda and Hyderabad districts went on a strike, protesting against the police department.
Power minister Jagadish Reddy is said to have complained to the DGP about those policemen who beat up power staff even after producing their ID cards. These power staff went back to work only after they were assured that necessary action would be taken against those policemen who were at fault.
