Covid-19 outbreak has changed the dynamics of Telugu cinema industry in more than one way. The financial equilibrium has taken a beating and producers are not willing to spend tens of crores on big projects. Many top production houses are looking to cut down the budgets as theatrical business is not expected to get back on track anytime soon.
In a bid to produce attractive content with very limited budget and resources, production companies are eyeing web series’ and digital content.
Apparently, Tollywood production houses like Geetha Arts, UV Creations, SVCC Entertainment, Sri Venkateswara Creations are planning to produce more digital content.
All the top production houses have reportedly come up with an open offer to both young and experienced filmmakers. All they are asking for is an appealing story which requires very minimal groundwork and financial resources.
If any filmmaker comes up with the right story with great potential and convince that he/she can wrap it up with a limited budget, production houses are ready to offer them a contract.
We need to wait and see if both aspiring and seasoned filmmakers will make the most of this golden opportunity.
