There was never this much anticipation or talk about the elections regarding the Movie Artistes Association. However, since its very announcement this year, the MAA elections have become a highly politicised issue, with everyone exchanging harsh words, getting into a war of words.
With the remaining candidates withdrawing their nomination, Prakash Raj and Manchu Vishnu are the remaining two candidates vying for the post of the President. These two have been engaging in severe arguments for quite some time now, most evidently from when Vishnu made controversial comments on Pawan Kalyan’s speech at Republic’s pre-release event. Prakash Raj reverted by saying that Vishnu should remember that Pawan Kalyan is very much a part and parcel of Tollywood and that he can’t question the actor’s speech.
Now, with Vishnu all ready to pay Rs. 500 per vote, for postal ballots, so that actors from other states can also vote for him, Prakash Raj has appealed to the senior members of MAA to respond on the issue and even became emotional about the issue in media.
