For a while now, the new secretariat of the Telangana state has been under construction. The new secretariat is said to be a symbol of the heritage of Telangana and has been modeled after the concept of green buildings. The old secretariat that stood in its place was completely razed to the ground, after which the construction of the new secretariat began. Andhra Pradesh too held an equal share in the secretariat, but the secretariat was handed over completely to Telangana after Jagan became the Chief Minister.
Telangana Minister KTR had been overseeing the construction work on the secretariat since the beginning of its construction, and he took to his social media account today, to post a completed picture of the new secretariat. He had been guiding and advising the concerned departments on the secretariat since its construction began.
The secretariat was supposed to have opened fully by now, but got postponed because of the coronavirus pandemic. KTR announced that the new secretariat will begin functioning completely in two months. The new secretariat has been built at a cost of Rs. 617 crores.
