Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Tuesday ordained district Collectors and senior health officials to double the number of daily Covid tests amid second wave of the viral disease. The decision was taken by the centre to facilitate quicker process in identifying a large number of Covid positive patients efficiently and cut down morbidity and mortality.
In a video conference chaired by the chief secretary, high rank officials along with District Collectors and senior health officials was held for tote hours of brain storming session. The Chief Secretary iterated that boosting the testing was crucial for Telangana to curb the spread of the Covid infections.
The Collectors were instructed to ensure to keep the testing process hassle feee without any delay on weekends or holidays and that all testing centres function everyday. New testing app for effective contact tracing of any positive person and their subsequent testing is being considered henceforth.
Somesh Kumar directed officials to rev up the Covid vaccine administration. Daily, the Primary Health Centres (PHC) must provide 100 vaccine doses, areas Hospitals and Community Health Centres ought to administer 200 jabs, and District Hospitals at least 300 doses. The health officials must see at least 1.25 lakh individuals are vaccinated everyday from the present 50,000 mark, he asserted.
