Of late, Twitter accounts of many celebrities across the country, as well as official accounts of various political parties have been hacked. Recently, the hackers shocked the Telugu Desam Party by taking control of their official Twitter account.
Since last night, the party leaders and activists found some weird tweets coming from the official handle. Alerted heads of TDP noticed that the account was hacked and informed the same to everyone through their personal accounts on the micro-blogging site. Due to the weekend, the response from the Twitter support team will be delayed. The TDP admin team has been working to normalize the account.
Nara Lokesh, the party’s national general secretary, took to Twitter and informed that they are working to restore the account. “Kindly note that our official party account @jaitdp has been hacked by nefarious elements. We are working with @TwitterIndia to restore the account,” he wrote.
Interestingly, the account of TDP was hacked a day after Nara Lokesh denied the statements of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, where she revealed that N Chandrababu Naidu’s government had purchased the controversial Pegasus spyware to snoop on their rivals.
