Kollywood star couple Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan have been in the news ever since the duo announced the arrival of their twin baby boys.
The early birth of the twins gave rise to surrogacy speculations, and it even caught the attention of the Tamil Nadu Government. The state said to have initiated an inquiry to check whether the couple violated surrogacy laws.
Following the inquiry, Vignesh and Nayanthara filed an affidavit disclosing that their marriage was registered six years ago, and that they gave birth to the twins via a surrogate. They revealed that the surrogate was the star actress’ relative. They even provided their marriage certificate as proof.
The couple also mentioned in the affidavit that they signed up for a surrogate in December 2021 before the Surrogacy Regulation Act came into place. They asserted that they have not broken any laws during this process.
