Minister Mekapati Gautam Reddy has said that if the YCP candidate gets a majority of one lakh votes in the Tirupati by-election from Sullurupeta Constituency, the MLA will get a chance in the Andhra Pradesh cabinet.
Sullurupeta has been a major area for the YSR Congress party since its inception. Minister expressed confidence that YCP will win the Tirupati by-election. Gautam Reddy lauded Sullurupeta MLA Kiliveti Sanjeevayya as a man of the people and a man who is among the people. Mekapati prophesied that it would also be difficult for the opposition to secure votes in the Doravarisatram Mandal.
In the last election, 23,893 votes were polled in this Mandal, of which YCP received 15,891 votes. Mekapati recalled that only 6,290 votes were limited to the opposition.
