Subodh Kumar Jaiswal has taken the charge as director of the Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday. The 1985-batch Maharashtra cadre IPS officer assumed the office after handing over the charge of the director-general, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF).
The senior officers of CBI received Jaiswal on his arrival at the agency’s headquarters in Delhi. They briefed Jaiswal after taking the charge.
The 58-year-old officer, who has been appointed for two years, holds a bachelor’s degree in English (Honours), economics & political science, and MBA.
After discharging his duties in various positions, Jaiswal was DGP of Maharashtra before taking charge as DG, CISF.
Jaiswal is the recipient of the President Police Medal for remarkable services in 2009, Indian Police Medal for exemplary services in 2001, Internal Security Medal, Special Service Medal (Govt. of Maharashtra) and ASSPP.
