Bihar DGP Gupteshwar pandey slammed civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Mumbai police on forcibly quarantining IPS officer Vinay Tiwari. He vent out his anger by saying it’s totally unprofessional behaviour by Mumbai police despite informing in prior in writing about sending the police officials.
DGP claimed that they not only isolated the police official but subjected him to house arrest and never even given accommodation. Gupteshwar said It’s a deliberate attempt by Mumbai police to stop Bihar police in probing the Sushanth’s death case. He further asserted that Mumbai commissioner Parambir Singh refused to provide any further information related to SSR’s money laundering case, where 18 crores were siphoned.
After CBI’s involvement, Bihar police demanded BMC to release Vinay Tiwari, but Mumbai cops cited BMC rule book by saying it had been following Government of India’s guidelines and chose to remain adamant despite the Supreme court rap.
BMC also claimed that it has not received any letter of request from Bihar police. The additional commissioner said they have not prohibited the IPS officer but allowed to conduct case proceedings with Maharashtra government’s officials virtually through Zoom, Google meet or Jio meet as they too have bee using every day owing to the pandemic situation. As per the recent update, there are four more officers and BMC is likely to restrain them as well.
