The Family Man Season 2 is making the headlines for all the wrong reasons. The trailer of the series suggested that it is based on a fictional terror attack orchestrated by a Tamil group.
Tamilians across the country feel offended by the series, which stars Samantha and Manoj Bajpayee.
Incidentally, the government of Tamil Nadu has written to the central ministry of Information and broadcasting, asking for a ban on the second season of The Family Man2.
“ A serial loaded with insults and insinuations against the glorious Tamil Culture could never be considered as the one having any broadcasting value. The trailer of this serial already evoked strong opposition from the people of the Tamil Nadu as well as from the political parties of the state. We request you to take immediate action either to stop or ban the release of ‘The Family Man 2’ in OTT, Amazon Prime not only in Tamil Nadu but also across the country,” read the letter written by Tamil Nadu government to Prakash Javadekar, the union minister of information and broadcasting.
Now that the government of Tamil Nadu has moved to escalate the ongoing protests against the series further, we can expect the central ministry and Amazon Prime Video to take affirmative action. The second season of The Family Man is scheduled for digital premieres on 4th June.
