On Wednesday, social media was abuzz with reports that Suryavanshi’s director Rohit Shetty and lead star Akshay Kumar have dropped Johar’s Dharma Productions share and had even returned the producer’s investment back. Also it was further misconstrued by few social sites that Karan was in depression after receiving a strong backlash from the people owing to nepotism.
However, the movie’s producers and presenter Reliance Entertainment rubbished that the rumours about Karan not being part of ’Sooryavanshi’ is false. Also, movie analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted to refute the baseless reports and said that Karan is still continuing the venture.
He shared on Twitter: “IMPORTANT… News doing the rounds of #KaraJohar not being part of #Sooryavanshi is untrue, clarifies #Relianceentertainment”.
Karan has been compelled to bear a lot of detest after the suicide of late Sushant Singh Rajput. He has been blamed for flagbearing nepotism in B-town and promoting star kids that triggered a furore. It is alleged that his role in nepotism has pushed Sushant to the edge of committing suicide. Nonethless, actor Swara Bhasker and director Ram Gopal Varma have stood up to Karan, labelling the social media backlash ‘height of idiocy’.
