Robin Uthappa retires from all forms of cricket

Former India and Karnataka batter Robin Uthappa on Wednesday announced his retirement from all forms of Indian cricket. The ace Wicket-keeper batsman, who made his international debut in 2006, was part of the Indian team that won the 2007 T20 World Cup.

Announcing his retirement, Uthappa tweeted, “It has been my greatest honour to represent my country and my state, Karnataka. However, all good things must come to an end, and with a grateful heart, I have decided to retire from all forms of Indian cricket. Thank you all.”

Several cricketers have hailed Uthappa after he announced his retirement from all formats of the game.

Uthappa played 46 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 13 T20Is for Team India. He also represented Mumbai Indians (MI), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Pune Warriors and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL. Notably, he is the 9th highest run-getter in the history of the Indian Premier League.
