Yesterday in a much tensed environment, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) provided heavy deployment to Rhea Chakraborty after her brother took her name for her involvement in the drug racket in her alleged connection with Sushanth Singh Rajput’s death. Rhea will serve next round of summons today.
“We have recorded RheaChakraborthy’s statement. But, because of her late arrival today, the investigation could not be completed. So, she has been summoned for next round tomorrow as well,” said NCB IPS officer, Sameer Wankhede, in Mumbai on Sunday.
Reportedly, Sameer Wankhede entered Rhea’s residence on Sunday morning to confirm summons. He was apparently with a white diary entailing a possible questionnaire underlined Rhea on the diary.
The NCB issued summons to Rhea to appear before 11 a.m. However, she took time until the deployment of female women officers and bandobast has been provided to accompany her car.
On enquiring the NCB officials to provide further details about Rhea and arrested candidates -Showik and Samuel Miranda, they have only talked about their involvement about drug racket, but haven’t emphasised much about their link to Sushanth’s demise and remained tight lipped.
In the probe, the actress refused that she ever consumed drugs or smoked marijuana. Nonetheless she confessed to have availed drugs through SSR’s house staff Dipesh Sawant but asserted it was for the late actor and his friends. Rhea only admitted to have smoked cigarettes.
