Reliance Jio has revolutionized the telecom sector by making low-cost internet and feature phones available. With this change brought by Reliance, even the common man is getting internet at a lower price. It was reported a few months ago that Jio might also bring low-cost laptops in this order.
As per reports, these works have now reached a crucial stage. The low-cost laptop is called the ‘JioBook’. If all goes well, these laptops could hit the market by May this year.
Miguel Nunes, Senior Product Director, Qualcomm Technologies, USA, said in 2018 that Jio is interested in making laptops that work with cellular connections.
The JioBook is said to come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 processor, in addition to dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It is said to come with up to 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. Also, the laptop will be pre-loaded with Jio Store, Jio Meet, Jio Pages and Jio Ad services. No information yet on the price of this laptop.
