Andhra Pradesh High Court has decided to hold hearings on AP capital case petitions from May 3, 2021.
JK Maheshwari, who was the then AP High Court CJ, has been transferred and AK Goswami has been appointed as the new CJ of AP.
At that time all capital case petitions were heard by a bench headed by the Chief Justice. With the arrival of the new Chief Justice, the hearing on those petitions came to a halt.
Recently, the Advocate General asked the court to start hearing the capital petitions on Friday.
It has been decided to hold a physical hearing in the court on the capital cases from May 3. The hearings on the petitions of the capital cases will be restarted from the beginning.
