IPL 2020: RCB Vs KKR match analysis: de Villiers Gives a Thumping Victory To RCB

Royal Challengers Bangalore are continuing their supreme form in this edition of IPL. They have beaten Kolkata Knight Riders by 82 runs. With this victory, RCB won five of their seven games. It was AB de Villers’ (73) fantastic innings that helped RCB to score a huge total of 194. However, KKR batsmen failed miserably while chasing this total. Barring Shubman Gill (34), no one gave a noteworthy performance.

RCB’s captain Virat Kohli chose to bat after winning the toss. They got a good start from their openers Aaron Finch and Devdutt Padikkal. The former played a quickfire innings while the latter gave him good support. They made 67 runs partnership for the first wicket. Then, Padikkal got bowled by Andre Russell. Within a few overs, Prasidh Krishna took the wicket of Aaron Finch. After that, RCB’s pillars Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers took care of the game. Especially, de Villiers played a sensational knock by hitting all around the park. When everyone thought that pitch became slower, he made that look like a joke. These two batsmen gave RCB a high score of 194/2 in 20 overs.

KKR had a huge task of chasing 195. They came up with the new opening combination of Shubman Gill and Tom Banton. The latter failed to make an impact in his debut match and fell in the fourth over. After that, every other batsman came and went in no time. They lost the wickets of Gill, Dinesh Karthik, Nitish Rana, and Eoin Morgan within 12 overs. After that, no one played the anchor innings. Thus, KKR ended their chase by scoring 112/9 in 20 overs.
