Noted writer-producer Kona Venkat is planning to make a biopic of legendary athlete Karanam Malleswari. He is doing some research on the life journey of the acclaimed weight lifter who landed India its first ever medal in the Olympics.
Kona Venkat will be finalizing the script of the film soon and he is planning to rope in Rakul Preet Singh for the lead role. Previously, he tried to bring Tapsee on board but this plan fizzled out as she could not adjust her dates for the project.
Cut to now, Kona Venkat is in talks with Rakul Preet Singh and moreover feels that a fitness enthusiast like Rakul will perfectly suit the role of Karanam Malleswari.
Rakul Preet is yet to give the green signal for the project but it is said that she likes the film’s premise and might be giving her nod soon.
Given the global subject, the film is likely to be made on a pan-India scale. More details will be out in the days to come.
