Celebrated former captain Rahul Dravid applied for the position of head coach of the Men in Blue senior team. He formally applied for the high-profile position on Tuesday.
It is known that current head coach Ravi Shastri will leave his position after the ongoing T20 World cup comes to an end.
Rahul Dravid, who is the current head of National Cricket Academy, is said to be the first and only choice of BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah.
Reports suggest that Dravid had recently met the BCCI brass in Dubai and spoke to Ganguly and Shah about taking up the position once Ravi Shastri steps down.
It is also heard that former India batter VVS Laxman is in the race to take over from Dravid as the NCA head.
