Renowned lyricist Kandikonda Yadagiri, popularly known as Kandikonda, has passed away today (Saturday) in Hyderabad due to health-related complications. He was 49.
As per reports, Kandikonda had been suffering from a serious illness for the past few months. He was undergoing treatment for throat cancer and breathed his last as his condition deteriorated. Reports revealed that his family is said to be facing financial difficulties as he had to pay more than Rs 70,000 per day for hospital expenses.
Aware of this, the Telangana government, as well as several Tollywood celebs, came forward to help Kandikonda.
Many said that the songs written by Kandikonda were a reflection of Telangana culture and traditions and that his death was a great loss not only to Telugu cinema but also to Telangana culture. Kandikonda has written songs for several films directed by Puri Jagannath. His best works include Idiot, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Satyam, Andhrawala, Chakram, Pokiri, Stalin, Desamuduru, Munna, Chirutha, Bujjigadu, Temper, among others.
