The YSRCP government which is being led by the AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has started to influence the land composition and ‘Look’ of Vizag. The proposed administrative capital was initially proposed to be developed as ‘Metro City’ by the previous government. Now, Jagan is canceling one prestigious projects one after another to shape up the city to his convenience.
This was all about the resolution took by the AP government to convert the land that as allotted to the Aganampudi sports complex into the land that will be given to the poor. The previous government had decided to build a sports complex with international standards and the land was also allotted for this purpose. Now the YSRCP government has scrapped all those proposals. Even land allotment was also canceled.
The previous government allotted 80 acres to the complex. With the decision to build on a total of 150 acres .. another 75 acres will have to be allocated. However, the new government abruptly canceled the sports complex proposal. It was decided to distribute the space as homesteads. The people of Visakhapatnam were really shocked by this.
Now, it is being said that another land will be allocated for the construction of the sports complex and it will take some time. In the meanwhile, Jagan is only focusing on his political mileage rather than the all-round development of a city like Vizag which has all resources.
Already the Adani Data Center construction was canceled and the company returned to Hyderabad. Vizag has already lost many developmental projects that can provide massive employment with the termination of the Lulu project contract, the world-class mall, the convention. Now even the government-run sports complex remains a dream.
On the other side, there are reports that the government is making money by selling multi-purpose lands to raise the revenue for capital construction. What is going in the state?
