Penguin, starring Keerthy Suresh did not get the best of responses from the audience. However, the film was really strong on the technical side and especially, the cinematographer Kharthik Palani scored the brownie points for his excellent work behind the lens.
Kharthik is now one of the exciting prospects in South Indian cinema and if the latest reports are to be believed, he has landed a golden opportunity to prove his mettle on the big stage.
Apparently, the makers of Prabhas’s Adipurush have contacted Kharthik regarding a potential collaboration. They want him to crank the camera for this big-budget mythological drama.
The makers were initially in talks with acclaimed cinematographer Tirru, but had to look for alternatives as he was unable to adjust his dates. Kharthik, who is an associate of Tirru has apparently caught the attention of Om Raut, thanks to his sublime work in Penguin.
Kharthik is currently in talks with the producers of Adipurush and might be signing a contract soon. The pre-production will commence soon and the producers are looking to finalize the technical team by then. Adipurush will be entirely shot in 3D format and will be made in Hindi and Telugu. It will later be dubbed in other Indian languages.
