Polling begins for municipal polls in Andhra Pradesh. Polling is underway in 12 Municipal Corporations, including Greater Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada, and 75 Municipalities and Nagar Panchayats. Polling will be held from 7 AM to 5 PM.
The ambiguity was removed when the High Court gave a green signal for the conduct of Municipal polls in Eluru Municipal Corporation.
A total of 7,549 candidates are contesting in 2,214 wards/ divisions with unanimous wards in various municipalities and corporations. A total of 77,73,231 voters will exercise their right to vote.
The counting of votes will take place on the 14th of this month except for Eluru Municipal corporation as per the orders of the AP High court. The results will be revealed on the same day.
