The ruling YSRCP created a huge state of unrest in the state of Andhra Pradesh after Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced his 3 capital plan in the assembly. Ever since then, every political party, other than the YSRCP, has been trying to gain the trust of the people of the state, especially those of Amaravati, by promising them that they would reinstate Amaravati as the sole capital of AP.
With the 3 capital plan not gaining enough momentum, thanks to the several petitions filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court, every party is trying to invoke the sentiment of Amaravati as the only capital of AP. Recently, AP BJP chief Somu Veerraju promised the people of AP and the people of Amaravati that the BJP, if voted to power in the upcoming elections, would build a world-class capital in Amaravati.
He said that the BJP has proved its capability by building a top-notch capital in Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand, and said that it would be able to do the same in Amaravati. He also said that the BJP has a complete and clear strategy on how to build the capital at Amaravati and promised that the BJP would deliver on its promise, unlike the YSRCP.
