Tamil star hero Karthi who has a decent market in Telugu industry somehow lost his mojo with continuous flops to his credit. His market which was once at par with mid range heroes here drastically came down after a series of flops.
But few months ago Karthi scored a memorable hit in the form of Khaidi. The film has both won critical acclaim and a commercial success as well. Especially, Karthi’s performance was praised by all.
The actor within a short time is coming back with another film, this time with another Chiranjeevi’s movie title Donga. The movie revolves around the chemistry between Karthi and Jyothika who plays siblings in the movie. Though the story is somewhat similar to the concept of Athadu, it has evoked enough interest in the audience.
The film is scheduled for release on December 20th. However, there are no promotions whatsoever for this film. Donga has been directed by Jeetu Joseph of Drishyam fame.
The reason behind no promotions is not known. For Khaidi, there is Vijay’s Whistle, another dubbed film, that is in competition. But for Donga, there are three other movies competing, out of which, two are straight films.
Sai Dharam Tej’s Pratiroju Pandaage, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Ruler are releasing on the same day. Even Salman Khan’s Dubbed film Dabangg 3 is releasing big time.
With so much stiff competition, Donga has to be promoted on a large scale but producers here are keeping mum about the movie’s release. What is the reason is not known yet.
