A popular newspaper daily, affiliated with the ruling YSRCP government, recently published an article saying that 50,000 beds are available for all coronavirus patients in the state. To be exact, the article stated that 50,751 beds are available in the state, which was indeed very welcome news to all people of the state.
However, if that was really the case, then why is it that the visuals of people standing outside of hospitals, being shown on TV, are so grueling and gruesome to watch. Why are people being made to wait outside hospital gates, when there are so many beds available in the state? A lot of people were seen waiting at the gate of GGH hospital in Vijayawada, which was very painful to watch.
According to the newspaper’s article, there are 2,412 beds available in 26 Covid hospitals, as well as 316 ICU beds available and 2,164 beds vacant in two Covid care centers in the same Krishna district. When the newspaper boasted of such huge numbers of beds, it’s strange to see that not even a single bed is available for the many patients in the state.
There’s no second thought in the fact that the Andhra Pradesh government is making better arrangements for Coronavirus patients in all of the country, but it is important to make sure that these facts are not overplayed, and are kept a little closer to reality, than being blown out of proportions. This would only result in the government getting a bad name for itself.
On the other hand, Jagan is now being compared to Chandrababu, as media channels affiliated to the YSRCP government are now behaving the exact same way that people accuse yellow media of behaving.
