On screen performances:
Vikas Vasistha is decent in his role as a responsible social teacher. Be it his dialogue delivery or his on screen apperance, surely will bring depth to the proceedings. His acting is good in emotional scenes. Overall, he carried the film on his shoulders decently.
Kusita Kallapu gets a meaty role as a PT teacher. Her cute looks are added advantage for the movie. Acting- wise, she is okay in her given purposeful role. Mokksha is a surprise package for the film. Her character has weightage in the film’s narrative and her acting is good enough.
The child artists who played the lead roles in the crucial flashback portions are decent enough in their respective roles. Other artists who played key roles in the movie are okay with their performances.
Off-screen talents:
Music by Karthik Kodakandla is a major asset to the movie as his songs are colourful on screen. A couple of situational songs are canned nicely. The background score for all the key portions is emotional hard-hitting and has soul in it.
The cinematography by S Muralimohan Reddy is decent as he showcased the entire film on a colourful note. His work is visible on the screen in the couple of episodes.
Editing by Pratap is nice as he kept the film’s runtime in limits by chopping off unwanted scenes in the narration. Production values by Sri Mamidi Entertainments are decent enough. Mamidi Sudhakar Reddy as producer did an impressive job in the film making.
Coming to the direction part, director Anji Ram has utilised the funds allocated nicely and made a film that may appreciation for OTT audience if not theatrically. He definitely has a bright future and talent to prove his mettle if given a solid budget.
What’s hot?
- Lead artists performances
- A couple of key portions
- Concept
What’s not?
- Narrative
- Execution part would have been even gripping
- A few initial scenes
Verdict:
In an overview, Neethone Nenu is a social drama which indirectly showcases the loopholes in our government schools. Though the lead artists gave a convening performance, not so gripping drama in the narrative may not get a universal appeal making the film as an average at the box office.
