A degree second year girl of a private college in Narasaraopet was murdered by her classmate in February this year. TDP general secretary and MLC Nara Lokesh had planned a protest against the government by celebrating the deceased victim’s birthday at her house and local TDP office.
However, the police officials refused to grant permission to Lokesh to visit the family of Anusha and enter into Narasaraopet as well. Citing Covid-19 rules and public unrest causing political activities, Guntur Range DIG Trivikram Varma said Lokesh was not allowed to visit Narasaraopet. He said that crimes against women should not be politicized. ‘Anusha was killed in February, and Lokesh is now coming to visit her family for politics,’ he added.
Now, Lokesh was taken into custody at Gannavaram Airport today while he was intending to go to Narasaraopet to meet the family of a girl who was killed in broad daylight.
