As this is the last weekend before the big Dasara festival, more than half a dozen films hit the screens today. One among them is Mystery. Let’s see how it goes.
Story:
The film prominently revolves around the murder mystery of a youngster named Rakesh(Thalada Saikrishna). Who murders Rakesh? What is the reason behind brutal murder of Rakesh? How Rakesh’s girlfriend Vedhika Geetha(Swapna Chowdary) involved in it? What is the role of other characters like crime journalist Swetha (Sathya Sree) and a private detective Raghava ( Venkat Duggireddy) and a SI Basha ( Ravi Reddy) in the entire murder mystery, forms the crucial crux.
On screen performances:
Youngsters Thalada Saikrishna and Swapna Chowdary are decent in their given roles. They are believable as lovers and acted decently in the scenes and the chemistry between them is okay.
Noted actors like Thanikella Bharani, Suman, Ali and Ravi Reddy are decent enough in the given crucial roles.Producer cum actor Venkat Pulagam is okay in his negative shaded role as heroine’s father.
The thread between Venkat Duggireddy and Naveen evoke decent laughs. Jabardast actor Satya Sree is decent in her role.
Off screen talents:
The cinematography by Sudhakar Bartle is fine as he showcased the entire context of the film nicely. Music composed by Ram Thavva is okay as his songs are colourful and so is case with the background score.
Editing work is not upto the mark as the film needs serious editing and trimmed. The production values for the low budget movie are okay to an extent.
Coming to the direction, actor Saikrishna even directed the film which is appreciatable but if he would have focused on the execution part the result would have been even better.
What’s hot?
- Lead artists performances to an extent
What’s not?
- Lackluster execution
- Boring screenplay
- Lack of emotions
Verdict:
In an overview, Mystery is a murder mystery that neither thrills nor chills with the proceedings. Lack of seriousness in making and uneven screenplay makes the film a tedious watch during this weekend. All we suggest it to skip the film and look for better entertainment options available in the market.
