Vikas Vasista and Priya Vadlamani starrer Mukhachitram hit the screens today. Directed by Gangadhar, the movie is penned by National award-winning writer Sandeep Raj of Color Photo fame. Let’s see the review of this movie.
Story: Mukhachitram is the story of a plastic surgeon Dr Rajkumar (Vikas Vasista) from Hyderabad, who replaces the face of his friend Maya (Ayesha Khan) with his dead wife’s face Mahathi (Priya Vadlamani). Who is Maya, and what happens to Mahathi? What is the intention of Rajkumar behind, replacing Maya’s face with his dead wife, forms the crux of the story.
What about on screens performances?
New actor Vikas Vasista gave a convincing performance as Dr Rajkumar. With impressive dialogue delivery and apt facial expressions, the youngster did a very good job. Priya Vadlamani shined in her role as a cute and homely lady. Ayesha Khan is fine with her acting in the given key role. 30Weds20 fame Chaitanya Rao gave his best in his limited role.
Young hero Vishwak Sen’s performance in the cameo as a lawyer looks impressive. The rest of the cast helped the story to come out well on the big screens.
What about off-screen talents?
Kaala Bhairava gave a good background score. He composed a couple of situational songs, which go well with the story. The camera and editing works are fine while the production values of the makers are decent.
Sandeep Raj penned a fair story, and director Gangadhar executed it well. However, the duo should have worked more in creating curiosity among the viewers by making the story not too predictable.
What’s good?
- Performances of the lead cast
- Background music
What’s bad?
- Predictable storyline
- Better screenplay
Verdict:
Mukhachitram is a decent attempt, but it lacks strong presentation skills from the makers. On the whole, one can give it a try on the big screens with no big expectations.
