Kothapalli Subbarayudu, a member of the YSRCP and also a former minister, has been suspended from the YSRCP, on the grounds of anti-party activities. This action is said to have been the result of Subbarayudu publicly speaking against, and opposing Narasapuram MLA Prasad Raju. He also said that he would win in the 2024 elections, whether or not he’s a part of the YSRCP.
Subbarayudu very publicly said that he would contest in the 2024 elections, whether or not he belongs to any party, and expressed confidence that he would win in Narasapuram as he has a loyal set of supporters in the area. He said that he won even when he was in the Congress party and that with the exception of the 2019 elections, he was always in the competition. Subbarayudu also said that it is sad to see that a case has been filed against him despite protesting against the government peacefully, at the recently held Narasapuram Zilla Sadhana Samithi movement.
Subbarayudu criticized MLA Prasad Raju for failing to achieve the Narasapuram district headquarters, and even publicly hit himself with his own slippers, saying that he regrets his part in being responsible for Prasad Raju’s victory in the area. Speaking about the incident, YSRCP senior leader Perni Nani said that such behavior will not be tolerated in the party, and Subbaryudu’s suspension is the best example of it.
