‘Mangalavaaram’, an action thriller from writer-director-producer Ajay Bhupathi, is going to be released in theatres on November 17. The film’s trailer is out.
In many ways, it makes a roaring impact. The tension about a murder every Tuesday is palpable throughout. What is remarkable is that the trailer makes us listen to the fears of its shaken characters without them speaking any words.
Payal Rajput, who went topless for a poster, is a semi-tragic character in the story. She sleeps with a man she trusts, only to be betrayed (?). The last minute of the trailer gives her character a greater degree of screen space and mind space. The rest of the characters and their fate have not been revealed for good.
Since this film is a thriller, it is understandable that not much has been revealed. The rural backdrop and the incessant urge of the trailer to create a sense of fear are commendable.
The film’s pan-Indian release has been confirmed by the makers. Nandita Swetha and others also feature in this film. Art director Raghu Kulkarni, sound designer Raja Krishnan and cinematographer Dasaradhi Sivendra have worked alongside dialogue writer Syed Tejuddin. Pruthvi Shekar and Real Sathish choreographed the fights
Mudhra Media Works and Bhupathi’s A Creative Works have already released two songs: ‘Ganagana Mogalira’ and ‘Emayyindho Emito’.
