Bhadrachalam which is said to be a holy place for the devotees of the Lord Sri Ram is facing the effect of Corona Virus. Here, the Sita Rama Kalyanam will be performed in a traditional manner every year which has to take place on April 2nd.
Traditionally the state governor will attend the coronation ceremony which will happen a day after the Kalyanam ceremony and presents ‘Pattu Vastrams’ to the presiding deities but due to Corona outbreak none of the following is going to happen.
Every year, lakhs of devotees from across the country throng Bhadrachalam or Bhadradri on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami to witness the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita at the open grounds in front of the temple on the banks of Godavari river.
But this year, the auspicious occasion of the Sita Rama Kalyanam is going to be without any pilgrims, thanks to Coronavirus threat. State minister for transport from Khammam Puvvada Ajay told reporters that the state government had banned the entry of devotees to Bhadradri on Sri Rama Navami.
He said that they are banning the entry of any pilgrim or devotee into the temple and said that everyone should change their plans. He even clarified that the temple authorities have been instructed to stop all ticket sales for Kalyanam this year. The minister added that those who have already booked their tickets online will get a refund of their money.
