The YSRCP government is known for its authoritarianism, where it doesn’t let anyone that is not related to the party do anything that might harm them in the slightest. As a result, the government doesn’t even give permissions for any padayatras or other public meetings so easily. For quite some time now, TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh has been trying to get permission for his 400 days padayatra.
Lokesh’s padayatra has now finally been given permission. The padayatra will begin from Kuppam on January 27, and will go on for 400 days. The yatra is mainly focused on educating the youth of Andhra Pradesh about the current circumstances in the state of Andhra Pradesh. A lot of debate went on about the permission for this yatra, as the government had not been paying any attention towards giving permission for the same.
Interestingly, it is only the Chittoor police department that has given permission for the yatra so far, with the other police departments yet to give the green signal. It is interesting to see that there’s no unity between the police force of Andhra Pradesh, who seem to have transformed into nothing but puppets.
