Lagadapati Rajagopal, who is known for his no more popular election surveys has declared to quit doing such surveys hereafter.
Lagadapati has been doing the surveys since long and in several instances, his anticipations turned out to be true. But all such anticipations have horribly gone wrong in Telangana assembly elections. While several opined that he is a secret supporter of TDP, Lagadapati severely condemned it then.
But, repeating the similar stunt, Lagadapati has recently come up with his survey report, anticipating TDP as the winner with over 100 seats in hand. But as expected, he again remained as a laughing stock on the social media, as none of his anticipations turned true. YSRCP is all set to form the government with a whooping 151 assembly and 22 Lok Sabha seats in hand.
Right after the results declaration, Lagadapati was severely trolled on the social media, just like how he faced the heat after Telangana assembly results. Most of the netizens opined that Lagadapati has openly proved that he is a secret supporter of TDP and released the surveys, only to please TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu.
Unwilling to face such trolls anymore, Lagadapati has released a press note to say that he is not going to do election surveys anymore.
“As I failed in catching the public pulse, I decided to quit doing surveys hereafter. I’ve been doing the surveys since 2004 and expressed my opinion in the past as a Congress leader that even Congress loses in the election. I even stood on my words that I would quit politics and now I also decided to quit doing election surveys,” he said.
Lagadapati stressed that he released the survey, only based on the information he collected. He also apologized to those who were hurt with his survey.
“I congratulate Jagan Mohan Reddy upon his victory, and expecting Chandrababu Naidu to play a prominent role as an opposition leader”, Lagadapati concluded.
