The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), recently finalised a list of cities that will be the upcoming IPL season’s venues. Interestingly, Hyderabad is not one of these cities, despite being the home for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
TRS Working President and IT Minister, KTR, has written a letter to the BCCI, requesting them to consider Hyderabad as one of the venues, as the number of Coronavirus cases in the city is also very less, compared to any other metropolitan city in the country.
Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai have been selected as the venues for the 14th season of IPL. The selection of Mumbai as one of the grounds has been surprising, given that the number of coronavirus cases is once again on the rise in the city.
While the reasons for why Hyderabad has not been chosen as one of the cities is not clearly known, it is being speculated that the main reason for this is the internal conflict between the members of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), headed by former Indian Cricketer Azharuddin.
Six members of the HCA have raised a revolt against Azharuddin and called for an Annual General Meetin on March 28th, which Azhar dismissed as illegal, as the meeting has no approval. On the other hand, netizens have been asking KTR to intervene and sort things out in the HCA.
