Kodela Sivaram, the son of ex-Speaker of Andhra Pradesh assembly, Kodela Siva Prasad, has surrendered in the court today, for the cases filed on him.
When Siva Prasad was acting as the assembly speaker in the past, Sivaram allegedly resorted to severe land scams and also collected K-Tax (Kodela Tax) from the public. TDP activists and other leaders of the party itself, complained against Kodela and his son. This made the high command of TDP, distance itself from Kodela’s family. Hurt by this, Siva Prasad tried to join in another party.
But after the YSRCP has formed the government, the chances for Kodela to survive in the politics got blur. He faced the series of troubles from the state government, which also made him commit suicide, as alleged by the family members of Kodela.
