Telangana Chief Minister KCR had been trying very hard to establish himself as an important player in national politics for several months now, meeting with various politicians of different states, trying to forge an alliance with them and creating a third front in national politics. However, things didn’t turn out to be in his favour, and now, they’ve hit an all-new level.
In the recently held general elections in 5 states in the North, with the exception of Punjab, BJP retained power in the other 3 states – Goa, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, while it came to power for the first time in Manipur, wresting it from the Congress. Considering that the BJP has proved to be a major player in Telangana, in recent times, post the GHMC elections, and the Huzurabad by-polls especially, KCR is expected to pause and assess before he goes ahead with his national plans.
It is expected that KCR would shift all of his focus to Telangana now, as the elections are in 2023 itself. The current situation is not very much in favour of KCR or TRS, like the last time, which would make it crucial for the leader to focus first on Telangana, and then on the country, as, if KCR doesn’t do that, then experts say there are chances that the BJP might come to power in the state.
