The TRS has been openly opposing the farm bills introduced by the Central Government, ever since the bills were proposed in the Lok Sabha. Today, yet again, Chief Minister KCR has openly opposed these bills in the first Rythu Vedika, organised in Kodakandla village in Jangaon district.
KCR urged all the farmers to strictly oppose these farm bills, saying that they pose a great threat to the farmers, and are more profitable to only traders and corporate businesses, and not farmers. On this occasion, KCR also spoke about the Center’s reforms on the electric sector, and said that they posed a great threat to the states, as the entire power in this area would then rest in the hands of the Center, which is already treating the states as beggars.
KCR also said that it is the Central Government that causes problems to the state, with respect to offering subsidies to the farmers, and added that the Central government is doing great injustice to all the farmers of the country.
Speaking about the Rythu Vedikas, KCR said that the government is going to spend Rs 600 crore to construct 2,604 Rythu Vedikas all over the state. KCR said that Rythu Vedikas are the first of their kind in the entire country, where the farmers can get remunerative prices, better marketing facilities, higher productivity and can ultimately make agriculture profitable. He also said that the government will encourage farmers to adopt innovative and modern agriculture practices, and encourage them to interact and share knowledge about all the new and innovative technologies in agriculture and farming. KCR also said that none of the farmers will incur any kind of loss if they grow crops as per the government’s suggestions.
KCR also added that Telangana is the only state where the government procures paddy directly from the farmers, easing their way of doing business.
