Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) President and state chief minister K Chandrasekhara Rao looks more than confident of pocketing all the 32 Zilla Parishads, for which the Election Commission is set to issue notice to schedule polls soon.
Interacting with party colleagues, he claimed almost all surveys that he possessed so far are indicating that “we are winning all the 16 out of 17 Lok Sabha seats”. Hence, he said everyone should help keep up this tempo to win even the Zilla Parishad and Mandal Parishads, which are scheduled to be held soon.
“I want every member of my cabinet, MLA and MLCs, shoulder the responsibility to ensure every party nominee win in the upcoming polls,” he said.
“Can’t we accomplish this task with 100 MLAs,” he asked party colleagues who attended the extended committee meeting of the party on Monday.
According to him he got as many as 10 poll surveys done by various agencies, which clearly indicate of party’s victory in all 16 constituencies. However, some news channels of regional and national, who also have conducted independently wary this figure. While some claim of TRS winning 14, others projecting less than 10, giving the Congress and BJP winning couple of seats each.
Elections are scheduled to be conducted to 32 Zilla Parishads, which has strength of 535 ZPTC members. Polls are also conducted to 5,857 MPTC members simultaneously.
KCR had entrusted the job to his cabinet colleagues, MLAs and other senior party functionaries to reactivate the party cadre to drive-in voters who are already tired of participating already in two major polls – assembly in December 2018 and now in this month.
