TDP MLA from Sathupally, Sandra Venkata Veeraiah has recently announced to join the TRS party, saying that the Telangana people are no more in a mood to encourage any other political parties, other than the TRS in the state. But the party insiders opine that there’s a huge strategy behind Sandra’s joining into the TRS party. Reportedly he was offered a land worth Rs. 5 crores for Rs. 50 lakhs itself from KCR.
Getting into the details, about 24 years ago, Sandra encroached a government’s plot of 1,000 sq.yards and extended his house which is adjacent to the plot. But two years ago, the Telangana government took possession of the land, citing the illegal encroachment. Now the reports are rife that KCR agreed to give back the land that was encroached, only after the TDP MLA agreed to join in the TRS party.
The Telangana Chief Minister also ordered the revenue department to regularize the land for Rs. 5000 per sq yd, against the original market value which is over Rs. 50000 per sq.yd. With this adjustment, Sandra got the land worth Rs. 5 crore, only for Rs.50 lakhs. Earlier, similar type of adjustments have been made in case of the Congress leader Puvvada Ajay, after he defected into the TRS, the insiders say.
The issue is now going viral among the political circles, saying that KCR invested Rs. 5 crores of public money to buy a TDP MLA. Even the netizens are criticizing opining that the government has no right to waste the public money, just for their political benefits. While the TRS government already managed to eliminate all the opposition parties successfully and is ruling the state, with no strong parties on the other end, at this point of time, the acts like these, would take a dig at the government, in the next elections, the analysts opine.
