Very famously, the Telangana state minister for information technology, industries, urban development and municipal administration, invited a startup company to come to Hyderabad, when the founder of the company complained of the poor condition of roads, and the heavy traffic in Bengaluru. He asked the startup company to pack their bags and move to Hyderabad, as the city offers the best infrastructure.
Reacting to this tweet, and offer from KTR, Karnataka Health Minister K. Sudhakar on Tuesday said that Hyderabad still has a long way to go for it to be able to compete with Bengaluru, in terms of the number of IT-BT companies that are present in the respective cities. He even called out KTR for his tweet, saying that being the son of the Chief Minsiter of a state, he should know better while making such statements. While Sudhakar said that the state of roads and traffic is something that needs to be taken care of, in the city, it doesn’t mean shifting. He also said that Hyderabad would have the chance of competing with Bengaluru when and if the BJP comes to power in the Telangana state.
Sudhakar also added that Bengaluru is not simply called the Silicon city of India, and said that the city is not trying to compete with any other city in India, like Mumbai, Hyderabad, etc., but that it is trying to compete with the USA and Singapore, which are the IT hubs of the world.
