Actor-turned-politician and leader of Makkal Needhi Maiam Kamal Haasan have declared his assets worth Rs 176.9 crore in his nomination for the upcoming assembly polls in Tamil Nadu.
Kamal filed his nomination from Coimbatore South and became the richest candidate who has filed nominations till Monday.
The veteran actor has revealed movable assets of over Rs 45 crore and Rs 131 crore of immovable assets. The actor has also declared his income in his election affidavit. His tax returns for the year 2019-20 was Rs 22.1 crore. Apart from the assets, Kamal has three FIRs against him.
On the other hand, Kamal Haasan MNM’s party vice-president and vanilla exporter R. Mahendran is the second richest with over Rs 160 crore, who filed the nominations for the poll.
