Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is making a few changes to the ministries in his cabinet, by including new ones, and recruiting new members for the roles as well. Jagan is also reassigning responsibilities to various members, by assigning a new member to a role, removing the old one from it.
The YSRCP government has now established a separate wing within the party for Risk Mitigation Measures. This comes in light of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, and to also make sure that the government can deal with any kind of risk to the state.
Ajeya Kallam, who previously used to work as the principal advisor to Jagan in CMO, may now be made the National General Secretary – where he has to manage affairs between Delhi and here. Previously, Vijayasai Reddy is currently the ambassador to Delhi from Andhra, and managed all the affairs between the capital and state.
There have been many rumors over the past few weeks that have said that all’s not well between Vijayasai and Jagan, and that they are having some differences. If Vijayasai’s post is given to Kallam, these rumors will gain more fuel.
However, sources say that there’s more to this story than meets the eye. A few days ago, in a surprising turn of events, Jagan had removed Ajeya Kallam and another ex-IAS officer, P.V. Ramesh from their posts, and gave those posts to other IAS officers in service. This caused a lot of ruckus in AP, leading to a shady image for Jagan. Sources now say that Jagan gave Kallam Vijasai’s post to rectify the situation and his image.
Whatever Jagan’s reasons may be, it is now to be seen how Vijayasai will handle this situation, and what new post will be given to this senior YSRCP leader and close aide of Jagan.
