It is nothing new that the judiciary and the government of Andhra Pradesh have been at loggerheads ever since the YSRCP came into power. The YSRCP government deals in a way which is most suitable to the members of the party, and the judiciary tries to uphold the constitution of India and the interests of the people of the state of AP.
Recently, an affidavit was filed by Mission Build AP Special officer Praveen Kumar, against High Court Justice Rakesh Kumar, in which Praveen stated that Rakesh Kumar had said that the governing of the state of AP would be handed over to the Center, as the constitutional system in the state had collapsed, and that the state government is not functioning well.
All of this confusion began when the government was planning to auction several lands belonging to the state, as part of the Mission Build AP scheme. Justice Rakesh Kumar had in fact questioned the government about the need for this auctioning and asked the government if it were completely bankrupt that it had to resort to auctioning of lands that belong to the state.
However, in the affidavit that Praveen Kumar has submitted, it has been stated that Rakesh Kumar said that the government of AP is unfit and that the ruling should be given to the center. Lawyer Narra Srinivas has also clarified in his argument that Justice Rakesh Kumar made no such statements as mentioned in the affidavit. The way a senior IAS officer has filed an affidavit on a High Court Justice is being heavily criticised.
