In a surprising development of Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, Narcotics control of Bureau (NCB) recently apprehended Samuel Miranda while investigating the drug angle in connection with death of the actor. Following which the agency raided Rhea Chakraborty’s residence.
The case was enlisted by CBI after the WhatsApp messages among Rhea and Shruti Modi, Miranda and Pithani were exposed by the media channels.
The agency registered a case against Rhea, her sibling Showik, creative content manager Jaya Saha, Sushant’s co-manager Shruti Modi, and Goa-based hotelier Gaurav Arya under Sections 20 (b) 28, 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
Samuel Miranda and Showik Chakraborty revealed jolting revelations after constant grilling that they procured drugs for Sushanth and admitted crime. It was learnt that Showik bought drugs via Gpay at the behest of his sister Rhea. Both revealed more names involved in the drug ring and will be produced in the court today.
Reportedly, the sections charged against the group are 20(b) that deals with production, manufacture, possession, selling, purchase and transport of cannabis, 28 (punishment for attempt to commit offences), 29 (punishment for abetment and criminal conspiracy) and 27(a) that explains punishment for financing illicit traffic and harbouring offenders.
Around 6.30 a.m, the NCB officials began the search operations in Mumbai including the residences of Showik and Samuel, which was initiated subsequent to drug peddler Zaid Vilatra’s seven-day custody.
