Yesteryear actress Jayaprada is likely to join BJP on Tuesday. She started her political career in TDP in 1994 and was an MP from 2004 to 2014 in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur.
Jayaprada faced expulsion from Samajwadi party for allegedly indulging in the anti-party activities. She then joined in RLD and lost in 2014, when she contested for the Lok Sabha.
Now, BJP is reportedly planning to field Jayaprada from Rampur, as she had experience of winning for the two tenures in the same constituency. In 2004 general elections, the actress had contested from the same constituency and registered a thumping victory with a margin of more than 85000 votes. So the BJP is pretty confident of winning Rampur’s seat.
Jayaprada should now face Azam Khan, who is also contesting in Rampur on behalf of SP, BSP and RLD alliance.
